If you eat too much in a short time on a regular basis and often like lose yourself while you're eating, you may have an eating disorder called Binge Eating Disorder. This disorder can affect someone's health in many ways, but two of the main risks are gaining overweight and obesity. If you want to be a healthy person, these effects are horrible. About 60% people who experience this disorder are generally obese, even though people with normal weight may have this disorder.Symptoms of Binge Eating Disorder
You have no obvious symptoms and physical sign while you have this disorder. You may look fatter, obesity, and overweight. However, you may still have behavioral and emotional mark signs like these:
- Eat quickly
- Feeling isolated and have difficulty to express feeling
- Eating in very large portion
- Diet, but not lose weight
- Experience depression and anxiety
- Feeling guilty and embarrassed
Risk Factors and Causes
Causes of this disorder are still unknown. But, psychological problems, diet, biological factors, and family history can be the risk factors. The description of risk factors are as follows:
Psychological Factors
Most people who have this disorder likely to have overweight. concerned about their appearances, and feel bad about everything. If you have this disorder like this, you might tend to act impulsively and unable to control your behavior. You may have a problem in coping with stress, boredom, anger, sadness and anxiety. In addition, you can also have the history substance abuse to depression. There are some tips for you if you want to overcome the depression.
Biological Factors and Family History
You are at risk of being Binge Eating Disorder if your parent or sibling also had the same disorder. Some people who have this disorder may inherit genes which prone to have the disorder.
Age
Although every person at any age may experience this disorder, but this disorders likely occurs in the early of 20 or late teen.
Diet
Diet can also be included as a trigger factor for a person who has this disorder. Diet can encourage someone to eat excessively, especially if a person has symptoms of depression and low self-esteem.
Complication
There are some complication related to Binge Eating Disorder, such as:
- Insomnia
- Depression
- Joint Pain
- Heart Disease
- High Cholesterol
- Digestive Problems
- Types of Cancer
- High Blood Pressure
- Diabetes

You need the help of professional to overcome this disorder. You can consult with mental health provider or primary care physician. You have to eat with proper nutrition and never skip your breakfast from now. Because, it can make worse this disorder. Never isolate yourself and try to interact with other people. Doing daily exercise is also good idea to reduce your weight. The most important thing is you have to be consistent with the treatment and therapy programs, follow your doctor instructions and do your best.
